YIT’s data center project in Hepomäki, Kuopio, represents a major expansion of Finland’s digital infrastructure. Strategically located south of the city center near Highway 5, the project involves a massive 45-hectare plot reserved for a high-capacity campus designed to support hyperscale operations.

A cornerstone of the development is its focus on the "green transition"; the facility is planned to integrate directly with Kuopio’s district heating network, allowing for the recovery of waste heat to warm local homes. With access to a robust 400 kV power grid and a skilled local workforce, the Hepomäki site is positioned to be a sustainable anchor for energy-intensive industry and innovation in Eastern Finland.
