Orcadian: Norfolk Offshore

Site planned for 2028 and has expansions through 2030

UK oil and gas developer Orcadian Energy has outlined a proposal to build a offshore data center in the British North Sea, powered directly by natural gas from its Earlham and Orwell fields.

Operating via its new subsidiary, Earlham Gigagrid Ltd, the company plans to burn the gas on-site for power and capture the resulting CO₂ to store back in the Earlham reservoir, keeping the project off the UK's onshore national grid. The initial phase involves constructing a bridge-linked platform complex consisting of a wellhead platform, an offshore power station with carbon capture capabilities, and a dedicated platform jacket supporting an initial data center hall.
