Océinde, a local conglomerate, has opened a new carrier-neutral data center on Reunion Island. The facility, named Omega 1, features 120 racks and represents a €10 million ($10.9 million) investment. It is situated in the Le Port Commune in the island's northwest. The project was initially unveiled in November 2022.
Océinde, established in 1970, has grown into a diversified industrial group with a focus on three core sectors: building chemistry, seafood products, and telecommunications. The group also has a presence in the real estate and animation production industries.
