DataVita has announced the acquisition of the Fortis Tier-III certified data center, based in Glasgow, Scotland, after operating the facility since 2016. The acquisition was made with £45 million ($63.1 million) of support by HFD Group, and Datavita will now take full ownership.

Built by HFD group in 2012, the facility in Lanarkshire has four 1,000 sqm (10,700 sq ft) data halls spread across two connected buildings. The deal concludes the first phase of the company’s strategy for the facility, which will be valued at £160 million when complete.

Commenting on the acquisition, Danny Quinn, managing director of DataVita, said: “We can now accelerate our plans to drive the data center’s environmental and wider ESG focus, open up new opportunities with our existing clients, and support our market competitiveness and ability to work with larger users of IT services across the UK.”
