Aker Nscale: Korgen

Year Planned: 2028
Lot Size: 160 acres

Following the formation of Aker Nscale, a strategic joint venture between Aker ASA and the AI hyperscaler Nscale, the company is expanding its Norwegian footprint with a major new data center project in Korgen, Hemnes municipality. Positioned as a sister site to the multi-billion dollar Stargate Norway "AI Gigafactory" in Narvik, the Korgen facility is planned to utilize a grid capacity of 250 MW, drawing directly from the nearby Nedre Røssåga hydropower station.

While Aker Nscale has already secured the land rights and integrated the site into local commercial zoning plans, the project is currently awaiting final power allocation from Statnett to begin large-scale construction. Managed by an operational team in Narvik and headquartered at Fornebu, this expansion solidifies Aker Nscale’s role in delivering sovereign, renewable-powered infrastructure for partners like OpenAI and Microsoft.
