YTL, with the acquisition of Dodid Pte Ltd, now has access to the startup’s data center based in Tagore Industrial Ave, as it expands its footprint outside of Malaysia for the first time.
Dodid’s facility is a 12.5-megawatt Tier-3 hyperscale data center, spanning 39,000 square feet of space. The facility also has sustainability at its heart, for which it received the BCA-IMDA Green Mark Platinum award.
Speaking about the acquisition, Dato’ Yeoh Seok Hong, YTL Power Managing Director, commented: “The burgeoning growth of the data center market in Southeast Asia amid digital transformation represents an exciting opportunity for YTL Power to expand our expertise in infrastructure to the digital age.”
Adding: "This is a major strategic initiative as we seek to expand our infrastructure platform to build sustainable data-driven ecosystems powered by renewable energy, which will help meet the region’s growing appetite for cloud-based solutions and services.”
