DataVolt is collaborating with AquaTech Systems, an Indian firm specializing in water technology, to construct water-efficient data centers. The two companies revealed this week that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation and services in water conditioning and recycling technology. Under the terms of the MOU, Aquatech and DataVolt intend to design, build, and operate data centers packed with cooling systems that are, according to the companies, tailored to the evolving needs of modern computing technology.

Aquatech is described as a "leader" in water and process cooling solutions for data centers, while DataVolt's team possesses "extensive expertise" in designing and running renewable power, cooling, and water treatment and reuse critical infrastructure. No information regarding planned data centers was disclosed. Saudi Arabia-based DataVolt was established this year. The company's website states that it operates in Riyadh, Dubai, and California, but provides no additional information. DataVolt is a wholly-owned division of Vision Invest, a Saudi Arabian holding corporation specializing in critical infrastructure development and investment.

Aquatech, founded in 1981, provides industrial and infrastructure markets with water management technology and services, including desalination, water reclamation, and zero liquid discharge (ZLD).

There are 40 data centers in Saudi Arabia.
