The contract, which was published for the first time on June 23, calls for a variety of services that can be categorized as cloud hosting and support services, cloud and hybrid transition solutions, data center solutions, design, and construction, data center support and maintenance, and colocation services.
This has been further subdivided into building installation work, database systems, installation services for mechanical and electrical machinery, infrastructure projects consultancy services, engineering design services for electrical and mechanical building installations, IT services consultation, software development, Internet and support, and design support services.
Yorkshire Procurement Organisation (YPO), a publicly owned central purchasing entity owned by a consortium of county, metropolitan, and borough councils in Yorkshire and North West England, is the primary purchasing organization for the contract.
Local councils, educational institutions, police, fire and rescue, maritime and coastguard agencies, NHS bodies, and the central government's agencies, among others, can use YPO contracts.
