Tencent Cloud: Tencent To Develop New Data Center in Japan

Tencent Holdings Is looking to develop its third data center in Japan. The Chinese cloud and eCommerce giant wants to take advantage of the increased demand for cloud services for live streaming and online games. The senior vice president for Tencent’s international cloud operations, Poshu Yeung, said the company is considering developing a third data center. He added that the company’s experience means the data center development will take little time.
The company operates 24 availability zones across 12 regions outside Mainland China. Tencent first revealed its plans for a data center in Japan in 2018. It also launched the data center it announced the following year. The company did not reveal specific details of this newly planned data center in Japan.
