Telmex Cancun: Telmex opens fifth data center in Mexico

Telmex, a Mexican telco, has opened a new data center in Cancún, Mexico. The Company first announced that it was opening this data center in August 2020. Besides, according to El Economista, Telmex chose Cancún to access the Equinix-operated NAP of the Americas IEX in Miami via submarine cables.

The data center is situated in the hotel zone in the Playa Delfines. Although Telmex didn't reveal the specifications of the data center, the facility will offer hosting and cloud services for private and public institutions. With this new data center, Telmex now has five data centers in Mexico, with previous ones in Guadalajara, Monterrey, Querétaro, and Mexico City.
