May 28, 2024 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Dutch colo provider Switch Datacenters has launched its fourth Amsterdam data center; the AMS4 facility with an IT capacity of between 15 and 18MW across a total white space area of 4,400 square meters.

“Our new data center sets a new standard for sustainability in the industry by redeveloping existing industrial buildings, while also designed to deliver heat to the local community,” said Gregor Snip, CEO of Switch Datacenters. “By reusing an existing building, we have been able to build faster and more sustainably, improving our own record time from build to operation of a high-end data center to under 22 months.”

Switch Datacenters currently operates two data centers (AMS2 and 3) in the Amsterdam region and has a fourth facility (AMS5) planned and will lease a fifth facility from Principal Asset Management.

Switch Datacenters Amsterdam BV has 8 sites in 5 regions.
