The Mega Gateway, SUNeVision's seventh data center, has opened in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. The hyperscale data center is a component of SUNeVision's Mega Campus and is carrier- and cloud-neutral. The newest building on the campus, located at 1 Ma Kok Street in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, has a 20MW capacity and 200,000 square feet of floor space. SUNeVision stated in the data center unveiling that Mega Gateway is designed to serve mission-critical IT workloads with its future-proof infrastructure. It can act as a vital conduit between mainland China and the international markets because of its advantageous position in Tsuen Wan, the heart of Hong Kong.
With about 15,000 cross-connects, the company's "dark fiber network" will link the Mega Gateway to the other data centers on the Mega Campus. According to the company, it will allow Gateway customers to connect with a variety of cloud gateways and IT service providers in Mega-i and serve as the next connectivity hub, extended from Mega-i. According to Allen Fung, vice chairman, and executive director of SUNeVision and executive director and CEO of Sun Hung Kai Properties' non-property portfolio companies, SUNeVision embodies the values of its parent firm. With a long-term perspective, they are dedicated to creating superior infrastructure and offering top-notch services.
With seven data centers in the area, including the Mega-i, Mega Gateway, Mega IDC, Mega Plus, and Mega 2, SUNeVision is the largest provider of data centers in Hong Kong. Additionally, the company houses the cable landing stations HKIS-1 and HKIS-2.
