Stack Infrastructure has signed up for the Swiss Winter Reserve Plan, through which it will provide its supplemental power capacity to the Swiss energy reserve, in line with the Federal Council's ordinance. The ordinance includes measures to prevent winter power shortages and will run until April 30.

Stack, through signing up to the plan, has committed itself to provide capacity via its existing emergency generators; this can be requested by Swissgrid to bolster power supply security in the short term.

"Stack has the capacity not only to support our clients' mission-critical workloads but also to provide additional energy capacity to the grid, so we are pleased to contribute to the Winter Reserve," explained John Eland, CEO, of Stack EMEA.

Adding: "Stack is committed to serving the local communities in which we operate. We are confident that Switzerland is resilient to any potential energy challenges, and we look forward to continuing to support the Confederation and Swiss citizens any way we can."
