SpaceDC has announced that it is launching a new 72MW data center campus in Cainta, part of Greater Manila, Philippines. Named MNL1, the campus will span 43,000 sqm with 12 four-story buildings and four data halls. In total, there will be 48 data halls, delivering up to 1,500kW of power each.

The campus, which will be the largest of its kind in the country, will be powered by renewable energy (both wind and geothermal power) and will also have a PUE of 1.3, in line with the country's newly established guidelines.

Commenting on this development, Space DC chief executive Darren Hawkins said: "The Philippines ranks second in terms of data center growth in Southeast Asia. With only 47MW of available capacity in the country it is a dramatically underserved market," adding: "We are excited to be a first mover in a new market where we see our customers are investing heavily in."
