Jun 21, 2022 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Skybox has started work on its Austin data center. The company announced plans for the 30MW data center earlier in March. Skybox Austin I will span 141,240 square feet (13,100 square meters). It will also be located in Pflugerville, Austin. In addition, the company also designed the data center campus to be able to support two 141,000 square feet facilities. Skybox will be developing the data center in conjunction with real estate firm Prologis. The facility’s first phase is scheduled to be completed in December 2022. Skybox also designed the data center to support two 141,000-square feet facilities.

Prologis and Skybox announced a partnership in 2021 when both companies filed to convert an empty warehouse in Elk Grove, Illinois, to a data center. In December 2021, Prologis filed to build a 500,000 square feet data center on a 19.5-acre industrial site in Sterling, Virginia. More filing information also showed that Prologis is partnering with Skybox to develop the large data center.

Skybox Datacenters has 17 sites in 6 regions.
