Sify Technologies will be developing new data centers in Noida, India. The company revealed that it would be investing Rs 2,692 crores ($345m) in the project. Sify announced the development at the Uttar Pradesh Investors summit. According to the company, this will be one of the largest data science investments in the country. Sify already has a hyperscale data center in Noida. The existing facility has 55,000 square feet (5,109 square meters) of raised floor space. It also has a 9.5MW capacity.
Despite the investment announcement, the company did not reveal the specifications of the planned facilities or their exact locations. However, the investment is part of Sify’s goal of developing 200MW of data center capacity across the country over the next four years. Sify currently has 10 data centers in operation. The facilities have 70MW capacity and are located in major cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, Rabale, and Airoli.
