Sberbank is planning to build a large data center facility in Saratov Oblast, Russia. Sberbank is a state-owned banking and financial services company that is based in Moscow. It has broken ground on the new facility in Balakovo. According to the Company, the facility will have a total space of over 55,000 sqm (592,000 sq ft). This data center will have seven modules, with each module accommodating 500 19-inch 48-unit racks. Besides, each rack will also have about 12 to 15kW of power.
This facility has the capacity of holding a minimum of 3000 racks and up to 120,000 servers. It will also have up to 82MW of capacity upon full buildout. According to Sberbank, this will be one of the largest data centers in the whole of Russia. The new data center will have a PUE of 1.1-1.4. It will also use an outside-air-based intelligent cooling system and a load management system to reduce power usage or consumption.
