Indonesian investment company Saratoga Investama has announced that it has pumped funds into AtriaDC, a local data center firm. The funds will help AtriaDC expand its data center to 30MW. AtriaDC operates a purpose-built data center it recently acquired in Jakarta, Indonesia. According to reports, the facility used to house SpaceDC’s data center. According to Saratoga, AtriaDC’s data center has the capacity to be developed into the largest purpose-built Edge data center in the country.
The President of Atria, Angelo Syailendra, said: “This acquisition is the first step to strengthen AtriaDC’s position as an Edge data center provider by considering both the large end-user population in the surrounding areas and the network density level, which is the main criterion for the edge data center business. We believe this strategy will support AtriaDC’s long-term target to become the best leading data center company for business players and the Indonesian digital community.”
Saratoga did not reveal what it invested in the data center company. However, it told the local press that it plans to invest up to $100m in data centers over the next few years.
