Indonesia: Salim Group to invest $500 million in developing data centers in Indonesia

According to reports, an Indonesian conglomerate, Salim Group, wants to venture into data center development in the country. Per Bloomberg, Salim Group has plans to invest up to $500 million in developing these data centers. The Company is seeking a financial arrangement with banks to fund the building and operation of the data centers at its industrial parks.

With Salim Group having five industrial parks, the Company will be investing around $500 million per industrial park. Salim Group has interests in a different range of companies. It has interests in automobiles through Indomil Group, food through Indofood, and supermarkets through Indomaret. It will be interesting to see how Salim Group goes about its new data center development interest in Indonesia.
