Liberum Navitas has revealed the first three locations for the 15 data centers it planned to develop in Russia. The Russian IT firm first announced plans for the 15 data centers in October 2021. The company revealed that the data center development would cost 48.6 billion Rubles ($683.3m). According to Cnews.ru, Liberum Navitas has now chosen Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, and Moscow as the first three sites for the data centers.

The Moscow data center will span 338,000 square feet (31,400 square meters). The regional data centers will also span 176,000 square feet (16,350 square meters). Airat Mustafin, CEO of Liberum Navitas, said the locations for each facility as a link to a single federal network are crucial. He added that there’s no room for mistakes in selecting the sites. Liberum Navitas will also be developing facilities in Sochi, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Volgograd, Tyumen, Sevastopol, and Krasnoyarsk.
