Panattoni, an industrial construction giant, will build a data center facility with Pure DC in Borehamwood, North London, UK. The decision was made after the Hertsmere Borough Council approved its application last week. The data center will be a 449,500 square feet (41,763 sqm) facility.

The data center site used to be a Sainsbury frozen depot before Panattoni bought it over in 2018 after Sainsbury abandoned it. Panattoni also built two warehouses on the site after purchasing it. However, Panattoni has decided to build a data center on it now after Pure DC convinced the Company to replace the warehouses with a data center in a joint venture agreement.

The facility will be a three-story building with a capacity of over 50MW. It will also have 42 backup generators at the site.
