Oracle has won two US federal contracts as the US Army’s Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) expanded its use of OCI, and the company has been selected by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the STRATUS contract.

Oracle US Defense Cloud regions are secure and isolated, specifically designed for government and defense workloads. The services provided to the ECMA will cover Defense Information Systems Agency Impact Levels 2, 4, 5, and 6.

A document attached to the award notice notes: “ECMA established the Army’s cloud ecosystem, known as cARMY, to provide common cloud shared services, global connectivity, and required cybersecurity services for all Army applications, systems, and data hosted in the cloud.

“Oracle is already approved for use at IL 4 and 5, and the Government anticipates that Oracle will be one of the CSPs approved for use at IL 6 by the time of TO award. Therefore, Army MOs will be able to leverage the Oracle cloud native and proprietary technologies and services for application hosting and development.”

“ECMA is committed to delivering innovation at scale with a secure multicloud environment that empowers the Army to achieve its digital transformation goals,” said Gabe Chiulli, chief technology officer, ECMA.

“Federal agencies face increasing pressure to modernize their infrastructure while maintaining the highest security standards and controlling costs,” said Kim Lynch, executive vice president, Government, Defense and Intelligence, Oracle. “Our purpose-built cloud solutions will help ECMA to address these challenges head-on, delivering the performance, security, and efficiencies that Army customers need in order to achieve more with less.”
