Telecommunication company, Neterra, has launched a new data center in Sofia, Bulgaria. The new data center is called Sofia Data Center 2 (SDC 2). SDC 2 is located next to Neterra’s existing SDC 1 data center. Neterra first announced plans for SDC 2 in April 2021. The data center is housed in a four-story building. It also offers 2MW capacity across 15,000 square feet (1,400 square meters). It is also Tier III Uptime certified.
The founder and CEO of Neterra, Neven Dilkov, said the new data center is essential for Bulgaria and Southeast Europe’s critical infrastructure. According to him, the facility is one of the only places where Western telecommunication operators’ networks can connect to Asia and the Middle East. SDC-2 is the company’s fourth data center.
