Responding to what it called “growing customer demand,” Microsoft recently announced its next US data center region. Named “East US 3,” it will have a presence in Georgia's Fulton and Douglas counties. The data center region will be accompanied by new office space stretching out to 90 acres.

According to Noelle Walsh, Microsoft’s corporate vice president of cloud operations and innovations, the new data region will deliver Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure Availability Zones.

Microsoft is yet to announce an opening date.
