Microsoft has plans to develop a new data center in Toronto, Canada. Confirmed reports show that WZMH Architects submitted an application on behalf of a Microsoft-owned company, 3288212 Nova Scotia Limited, to develop a ‘communications technology facility.’ This facility will be developed on the site of the now-closed Lowe’s store between highway 401 and Islington Avenue. The existing building will be demolished to make way for a 289,450 square feet (25,869 square meters) two-story technology building and single-story office admin & support building.

Worthy of note is that the Toronto City officials haven’t decided on Microsoft’s application yet. The application sees Microsoft planning to add to its two existing facilities in Canada. Microsoft has one facility each in Quebec and Toronto.
