According to the Business Standard, Microsoft has agreed to purchase a 50-acre land in Hyderabad, India. The company plans to build a data center campus on the property. Business Standard reports that Microsoft already has a deal in place with the Telangana government of India to develop a Rs 15,000 crore ($2 billion) data center campus in the city of Hyderabad.

Worthy of note is that Microsoft hasn’t commented on the report from Business Standard. However, multiple sources with knowledge claim there’ll be a formal announcement from Microsoft within a month. Besides, Microsoft currently has three Azure regions in the country. The regions are located in Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune. All the regions opened in 2015.
