Microsoft Azure: Microsoft expands in Des Moines, Iowa

Microsoft has announced that it is expanding in Iowa, following the issuing of a permit, valued at $255 million for a data center at 5855 SW Kerry St. As per the permit, the facility will span 250,000 sq ft.

Described as the DSM 12 Buildout and located in West Des Moines, the SW Kerry Street site is also known as Project Osmium. When fully built out, it will span 1.7 million sq ft (158,000 sq m) of land.

Currently, the giant has a number of different projects in development in the area, including: Project Ginger West, Project Ginger East, Project Mountain, Project Alluvion, and Project Osmium.
