Apr 24, 2023 | Posted by MadalineDunn

In Måløy, Norway, Lefdal Mine Datacenter has added 60 MW to its underground data center. This increase was made possible through a connection to the regional 132 kV power network, upping its capacity from 20MW to 80MW.

The power capacity has been expanded into modules of 30MW transformers. These are reportedly situated in separate mountain halls deep inside the mountain for security purposes.

The underground data center is pegged to be Europe’s largest data center offering up to 200MW, as well as 120,000 sqm (1.3 million sq ft) of floorspace across 75 underground halls.

Lefdal Mine Datacenter has 1 site.
