Abu Dhabi: Khazna Data Centers breaks ground on second data center in Masdar

Khazna Data Centers has announced it has broken ground on its second data center in Masdar, Abu Dhabi. The facility, named Khazna Abu Dhabi 6 (AUH 6), will have a capacity of 31.8 (MW) and is forecast to be completed by the third quarter of 2023.
Speaking about the company's data center footprint expansion, Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers, said: "One of the most exciting aspects of the evolution of data centres is how data centres underpin nearly everything we do in our digital lives. Driven by the growing demand for data centre capacity, accelerated deployment of Digital Transformation initiatives, the adoption of disruptive technologies, and to be better suited to face future challenges, elicit the growing demand for data centres today."
Alnaqbi went on to discuss how the Middle East is on the path of "rapid cloud growth" and explained that the UAE, being one of the largest data center hubs in the region, is projected to see US$2 billion in additional investments by 2026. He continued: "At Khazna Data Centers we are committed to further enhance the country's status as an international hub and encourage businesses and organisations to accelerate their Digital Transformation excursions."
