Keppel Corporation has announced that it has absorbed one of its subsidiaries. The move will also see Keppel take ownership of one of the company’s data centers. Keppel acquired Juventas DC PTE ltd (JPL) for $25.4m from Causeway DC Pte Ltd. (CDCPL). JPL has now become Keppel Corp’s wholly-owned subsidiary. Juventas DC PTE ltd was CDCPL’s subsidiary. JPL also owns shares in Keppel DC Malaysia 1 Sdn. Bhd., which owns and operates a data center facility for a third party in Malaysia.
Earlier in 2018, Keppel DC Holdings and Alpha DC Fund announced that they would develop and operate a greenfield facility for a third party in Johor, Malaysia. The data center sits on 24,250 square meters (261,000 square feet) of land. Per specifications, the data center was to have a gross floor area of 9,335 square meters (100,495 square feet). The announcement sees Keppel take full ownership of the data center, which it owned indirectly through several subsidiaries.
