A new data center is being planned by the local real estate company Vitali outside of Bergamo, Italy. The Municipality of Arcene in northern Italy is reportedly in talks with Vitali s.p.a. to create a new data center campus, according to the local Italian press. The commune of Arcene is located in the Lombardy region's Bergamo principality. Next to the former "Tre Cantoni" quarry, the "Innovation Hub" will cover 1.95 million square feet of currently undeveloped agricultural land. According to reports, construction will begin in 2024. The owner of the property is Vitali s.p.a., which first intended to use the area as an aggregate quarry.

The Vitali Group is an Italian company that develops infrastructure and real estate. It was established in the late 1980s. Office campuses, logistics parks, and shopping malls are a few of its prior projects. The neighbors in Arcene's municipal area are unhappy with the news. According to Premier Treviglio, Caterina Vitali, the mayor of Ciserano, opposes the construction and is displeased with the lack of public information about the initiative among government channels. The distance between Arcene and Aruba's campus for its data center in Ponte San Pietro is approximately 12.4 miles. Arcene is situated west of Milan and south of Bergamo. Building campuses in Lombardy for its Milan cloud regions are companies like Google, Amazon, and Azure.
