Iron Mountain Northern Virginia (Manassas): Iron Mountain To Develop another Data Center in its Manassas Campus

Iron Mountain is looking to develop a new facility at its Manassas campus in Prince William County, Virginia. According to a a filing, Iron Mountain plans to develop the data center on a 24-acre parcel. Iron Mountain will invest up to $100m to bring the data center to life. Although the specifications and the timeline of the development were not shared, the project will be a single-building facility and it would be called Iron Mountain DC2 and VA-7. 

The company currently operates two facilities in Manassas, Northern Virginia which are called VA-1 and VA-2. The facilities are located on land to the west of the proposed site for the DC2 data center. Earlier in 2021, Iron Mountain announced its plan to develop three more data center buildings called VA3, VA4, and VA5. The facilities are to provide up to 148,650 square meters ($1.6m square feet) of data center space. Iron Mountain is looking to build on the data center development in Virginia with VA7.
