Ahluwalia Contracts has been given a $20.46 million contract by Indian Financial Technology and Allied Services (IFTAS) to construct a data center complex in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The Reserve Bank of India's fully-owned subsidiary IFTAS offers essential infrastructure services to the RBI and other financial firms. A greenfield data center is expected to be built on a 6.12-acre plot in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on the east coast of India, according to a pre-tender study. The constructed area of the campus is anticipated to be 323,000 square feet. Engineers India Ltd will conduct consulting.
The Indian government has proposed Bhubaneswar as a prospective data center hub by 2025, despite the fact that it is not necessarily a favored site for data center expansion. The State Data Center Policy-2022, which would provide a number of incentives on land, electricity, capital subsidy, and exemption from the state's goods and services tax, was announced by the government in April of last year. Some sections of the nation are experiencing substantial growth. NTT broke ground on a campus worth $241.5 million in Kolkata last month, while Digital Realty & Brookfield started construction on a 20MW facility in Chennai.
