IBM Brazil opens its 4th Data Center at Hortolândia's service center. The expansion increases by 30% the company's capacity to provide outsourcing services in the country and is a result of part of the investment of R $ 40 million (US $ 17.4 million) made last year. The new Data Center has 800 square feet of high-density raised floor. According to data from consultancy IDC, cloud computing should have a strong expansion in Brazil, with annual growth of approximately 74%. Keeping an eye on this scenario, IBM has been preparing year after year to provide increasingly complete services to customers. Since 2007, US $ 4.5 billion (US $ 1.96 billion) has been invested in the purchase of 12 cloud computing companies.

The latest acquisition was that of Softlayer - a cloud services provider - that aims to strengthen IBM in the market with network marketing and delivery software. With a focus on the Brazilian market, IBM has been investing continuously to expand and modernize its service center in Hortolândia.
