The Malawian government has announced the launch of a national data center in Blantyre. The country partnered with Huawei for the development of the facility. Huawei was responsible for building the data center. The data center will also host all Malawian government systems. Specifications of the facility were not revealed.
Lazarus Chakwera, the president of Malawi, said: “We have launched the country’s first ever National Data Centre, a digital infrastructure that raises our stakes in delivering data-driven, seamless, and timely service to you fellow citizens.” He continued by saying: “This integrated infrastructure will allow interoperability between government systems, third party and private systems. Interlinkages with the private sector will be enhanced.”
