The European Investment Bank will provide €43 million ($44.71m) in loans for the development of two data centers in Azerbaijan. AzInTelecom operates under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and offers cloud solutions and telecom services.
Elkhan Azizov, chairman of the board of directors of AzInTelecom, said: "I hope that this project will provide a significant boost to the development of digital infrastructure in our country and elevate the ecosystem to a new level. As AzInTelecom, we will continue to work tirelessly to build a sustainable digital future for Azerbaijan."
AzInTelecom also stated that it would build the facilities to meet sustainability standards using "innovative approaches such as energy efficiency, efficient use of water, waste disposal, and natural cooling systems" and that solar panels will be installed onsite.
