Embratel: Embratel to invest $9 million in 15 edge data centers across Brazil

Embratel has announced its plans to expand across Brazil with 15 Edge data centers. Work will commence on the first three data centers this year, while construction on the other 12 will continue in 2022. The company expects to invest 50mn reais (US$9.2mn) in these projects.
The facilities will be built across Manaus, in the north of Brazil, as well as in the south and southeast. According to Mário Rachid, Embratel's head of digital solutions, the Edge facilities are being driven by clients in the retail and industry 4.0 segment.
The company has also announced plans to expand capacity at one of its six largest data centers in Brazil, located in the Lapa neighborhood of São Paulo. Work is expected to begin on this expansion next year.
