Edge Centres: Edge Centres to Launch Edge Facility in Aon Center, Los Angeles

Edge Centres is looking to deploy an Edge data center in an office skyscraper in Los Angeles, California. The company announced on its LinkedIn page: "Work is underway in Los Angeles on EC101. Located at 707 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, EC101 will serve as Edge Centres' core location on the west coast. Our footprint in Downtown Los Angeles is distributed between three separate facilities offering true dispersed Edge capability."

The skyscraper is known as Aon Center, owned by Shorenstein Properties. Aon Center is a 62-story office building located at 707 Wilshire Boulevard. The building totals 102,200 square meters (1.1 million square feet). Edge Centres provide modular data centers powered by solar and/or wind power, which are connected to the main grid as backup. Each modular data center is equipped with 1MW of solar infrastructure, UPS backup equipment, and a 48-hour battery. According to Edge Centres, each data center produces more electricity than it uses.
