Edge Centres has announced the close of a Series A funding round. It is now planning to deploy facilities in Malaysia and other parts of Asia Pacific (APAC). The Australian Edge data center company closed the AU$12 million (US$8.95m) Series A fundraise. The funding was led by Cloud Link Solutions (CLS), based in Singapore. The CEO of Edge Centres, Jonathan Eaves, said the partnership with CLS was a crucial decision for the company as it enables Edge Centres to deploy Edge data centers while also having access to cable landing stations. He noted that the company would be deploying ten Edge data centers across Asia in new markets, including the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Edge Centres also revealed that it is developing a facility called EC31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It also noted that it is surveying sites in Penang, Ipoh, and Johor in Malaysia. The Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, and Indonesia are also under consideration.
