DXN has completed the acquisition of a data center in Darwin. It also formed a partnership with Singapore-based data center firm, DC Alliance. DXN currently operates two data centers in Sydney and Hobart, respectively. Earlier in the week, it acquired the Secure Data Centre in Darwin for AU$4.88million (US$3.6m). The facility it acquired has been in operation for 17 years. It is also a 3,700 square feet (350 sqm) bunker with two data halls. According to DXN, the data center has 70 racks occupied by telcos, commercial customers, and the government. The facility can also be expanded to 127 racks.
DXN also announced that it wants to raise AU$7.1 million (US$5.2m) and AU$4 million through a share placement and debt, respectively. DC Alliance has also decided to form a partnership with DXN by investing AU$1.25 million in the Company. Both companies are now working on establishing a strategic alliance that enables them to cross-sell their Australian data center facilities. They plan to market and sell their data center services, connectivity, and colocation racks from DC Alliance’s Perth data center and DXN’s Sydney facility.
