Dubai: Dubai to be home to two new 'state-of-the-art' data centers

Dubai Internet City has entered into a deal with Khazna Data Centers to construct two ‘state-of-the-art’ data centers in Dubai. The two facilities will employ Khazna’s data center pod design for rapid scaling, something which will reportedly offer both partners long-term growth benefits. This development also now makes Khazna Data Centers the largest data center provider in the UAE.

Speaking about the partnership, Ammar Al Malik, Managing Director of Dubai Internet City said that although the UAE has been named “among the top ten most competitive economies in the world for a second consecutive year,” building data centers as well “enhancing the overall technological infrastructure” which nurture this further and help to provide an “investment friendly environment. Al Malik added: “Dubai Internet City has been a cornerstone of the UAE’s ICT strategy for more than two decades, and this agreement marks the next chapter in our commitment to supporting widespread digital transformation to increase our economic competitiveness globally well into the future.” Further to this he said that the announcement of the two facilities marks a “new milestone for the UAE” as it “boosts digital adoption.”

Hassan Al Naqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centres, commented: “The partnership between Khazna and Dubai Internet City will further support the UAE’s digital ecosystem, with technology businesses such as cloud computing operators able to achieve the level of connectivity they need to more effectively deliver services to partners, customers and employees.”
