DataPlex Group: Dubai’s DAMAC Group buys stake in Ireland’s Dataplex

DAMAC Group has acquired a 45 percent stake in Dataplex Group Limited. The two companies will focus on brownfield projects that involve rebuilding existing structures. They will also focus on more significant greenfield projects while focusing on hyperscale and wholesale colocation customers. In addition, both companies have acquired a parcel of land in Abbotstown in Dublin, Ireland. The purpose of the land is for the development of a greenfield 70MW+ data center and industrial campus.
Hussain Sajwani, Founder of DAMAC Group, said his company is developing data center facilities through its global infrastructure company Edgenex. He added that the company’s partnership with Dataplex helps it serve the increasing demand from local markets. Sajwani also noted that the company has a reputation for identifying opportunities and making the right investments.
CEO of Dataplex Group, Eddie Kilbane, also commented on the development. He said the partnership with DAMAC Group would aid the growth of the two companies. Kilbane also added that the partnership would help deliver digital infrastructure to support the development of local businesses.
