This week, DRFortress, the foremost carrier-neutral data center and cloud platform in Hawaii, announced that it has wrapped up the fourth expansion of its data center facility in Honolulu, which will be available for service on June 1, 2023. With this most recent expansion, the facility's 65,000+ square foot space now has over 800 cabinets offered for colocation services, an increase of 220.
DRFortress is the most interconnected facility in Hawaii and the largest provider of data center cabinet capacity and electricity for immediate deployment. To keep up with the region's high power density demands, DRFortress will increase its power density by 500kW on June 1, with an additional 500kW to be constructed and deployed in early 2024.
The expansion also includes three new customer conference spaces with a 38-person training and meeting room, two multi-purpose customer terminals, a second loading and delivery area to accommodate large equipment deliveries and a dedicated customer cafeteria break area. These spaces were created specifically for customers to have open office options from the data center, host events or group training, and serve as a safe and secure area for business continuity in the case of an unexpected calamity.
Four expansions have been finished by DRFortress since 2006, resulting in a tenfold increase in its customer base, space, and power capacity. DRFortress is the biggest data center operator in the state, offering mission-critical services to support the Hawaii economy and trans-Pacific data networks. The company is supported by a team with more than a century of combined data center experience.
