This week, Digital Edge announced that it had broken ground on its new SEL2 data center in Incheon, South Korea. The facility was first announced back in April last year, and will see around one trillion won ($800m) invested in the project.

The company is working in partnership with SK ecoplant to develop the facility, which will feature two buildings on the 120MW campus. The first phase will come online in 2024 and will be operated by Digital Edge.

Announcing these developments on LinkedIn this week, the company said: “Last week we celebrated the official groundbreaking of our SEL2 data center in Incheon. During the event, hosted with our partners SK ecoplant, we set out our shared ESG commitments for the #construction project, including zero tolerance of bribery and corruption and adhering to the highest standards of health and safety. We look forward to sharing more updates from the site as work continues to build the largest commercial colocation data center in South Korea.”
