Digital 9 Infrastructure has completed the acquisition of Ficolo for €135 million ($145m). Ficolo is a Finnish-based colocation provider which was founded in 2011. The data and cloud center firm has data centers in Tampere, Pori, and Helsinki. Chair of D9 Infrastructure, Jack Waters, said acquiring Ficolo is an amazing milestone for D9 due to Ficolo's strong expansion potential. He added that Ficolo joins the company's Nordic data center portfolio, a region with some of the world's lowest and cleanest data centers.
The head of digital infrastructure at Triple Point Investment Management LLP, Thor Johnsen, commented on the transaction. He said that with Ficolo now with D9, the company has one of the authentic green data-center portfolios in Europe. Ficolo's data center in Pori offers 11MW of capacity, with 91,500 square feet (8,500 square meters) of space. In addition, its Air Campus in Helsinki offers 161,500 square feet (15,000 square meters) of space and 20MW of capacity. However, the campus can be expanded to 538,200 square feet (50,000 square meters) and 80MW. Finally, its Deck data center in Tampere has 1MW of capacity across 4,300 square feet (400 square meters).
