DCI has revealed its plans for a new Edge facility in Darwin, Australia. The company acquired a 2.7-hectare site in Darwin Technology Park. It also has an option to expand the site up to 5 hectares if it wants. DCI says it will be developing a Tier III facility called DRW01 with 10MW capacity on the site.

CEO of DCI Australia and New Zealand, Malcolm Roe, noted that Darwin is the command hub in the north for Australian coastal border and defense forces. He also highlighted the fact that it hosts major US Defense Force aerial and technical assets.

Roe said Darwin is seeing organizations like NASA and major global players establish their base in the territory. He added that the industries with a presence in Darwin need secure ICT infrastructure. Malcolm Roe finally said DCI would take advantage of this, and the first step is by acquiring the land.
