DC Matrix, a new Edge data center firm based in Queensland, Australia, wants to build six data centers in Queensland. The first of the six facilities will be in Slippy Downs, on the Sunshine Coast. The chief digital infrastructure officer at DC Matrix, Adam Gibson, said the building design of the proposed facilities is in the works and that the Company has submitted development applications for the sites.
The Company is reported to be concentrating on the rural areas of Queensland and the southeast corner of Queensland. It is concentrating on these areas because of its good population and the limited growth in technology. DC Matrix is said to be self-funded, and it wants to develop office spaces and data centers on the sites. Aside from that, it also wants its site to accommodate solar infrastructures.
