Data4 is planning a new data center campus to the southwest of Paris, in Nozay in Essone. The campus, PAR3, will be built across a 22 hectare site, which was previously Nokia’s head office in France. The company has shared its plans to construct eight data centers on the site, with an injection of €1 billion ($1bn) by 2030. The total area will span 32,000 square meters, offering a capacity of 120 MW. As with many new data center projects, the site will also reportedly be integrated into a local district heating scheme.

The company outlined that the PAR3 data center campus in the municipality of Nozay, will be located 5km from its two Marcoussis campuses (PAR 1 and PAR2) in Essonne. It also expressed thanks to the Mayor of Nozay, Didier Perrier, his team and other stakeholders for making what it calls its “beautiful vision” a “reality”

Olivier Micheli, president of Data4, shared that the acquisition is part of the company’s ambition to “quickly reach a capacity of 1GW” and “be the pan-European reference player in the data center sector.” Micheli added: “We are thus strengthening our roots in the south of Paris. After the transformation of the former Alcatel industrial site in Marcoussis into a data center campus, the takeover of the Nokia site in Nozay underlines our territorial commitment as well as our desire to work and make our local ecosystem grow.”
