CoreSite’s VA3 Data Center goes green, powered by 100% renewables

Dec 01, 2021 | Posted by MadalineDunn

CoreSite has announced that its VA3 data on its Northern Virginia campus is powered by 100% renewable energy. This move to green has been achieved through Dominion Energy’s 100% Renewable Energy Program, which has a portfolio of locally-sourced solar, hydroelectric, and biomass energy.

Commenting on what this move means for the company and its wider sustainability goals, Paul Szurek, CoreSite’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said: “CoreSite is committed to seeking out the least carbon-intensive energy sources wherever feasible, which in turn supports its customers’ economic goals.

Adding: “We are excited to support the development of local renewable energy sources in the Northern Virginia market and to take this additional step in CoreSite’s sustainability journey by achieving 100% renewable power at our VA3 data center.”

CoreSite has 35 sites in 18 regions.
