Unified National Networks (UNN) data center construction has commenced at the UNN Tungku Submarine Landing Station in Brunei. A ceremony to mark the start was conducted for the 51,000-square-foot facility containing 200 Vertiv-supplied racks.

Utilizing a prefabricated design, construction should be completed in a matter of months, and the facility should be operational by early 2024. The modules and equipment for the data center are presently undergoing testing prior to being shipped to Brunei. Additionally, UNN is collaborating with the Berakas Power Company to construct a second independent power supply at the site.

The UNN is a member of the Asia Link Cable System (ALC) consortium co-led by Singtel and China Telecom Global Limited. The undersea cable is going to link Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei, Hainan, and China. It will land at the UNN cable landing station, where it will be connected to the impending data center.

The data center is the only one presently listed in Brunei on Data Center Map and Data Center Journal, making it potentially the first of its kind in the country. The ALC is projected to go live in the third quarter of 2025.
